Our Pastor

Pastor and Mrs. Manning were high school sweethearts. They met shortly after he had received Christ as his Saviour and within a couple of months of that meeting he felt a distinct call to preach and responded to that call.

 

Since that time in the spring of 1981, they have served the Lord together. First in their home church, then during undergraduate and graduate studies in Bible College. After that they helped in the early stages of a church their home Pastor planted in Western Ohio.

 

In September of 1992 Pastor and Mrs. Manning accepted the call to Lighthouse Baptist Church. Since that time, thousands of people have heard a clear presentation of the Gospel. Both “publicly and house to house” (Acts 20:20) at home and through foreign missions.

 

Pastor Manning remains committed to strong, clear Bible preaching and overseeing the flock of God consistent with the revealed will of the loving Saviour whose flock they are.

 

While acting in the “office of the bishop” (I Timothy 3:1), Pastor has overseen the growth and development of the administrative aspects of the church, led in the acquisition of  property and construction of the church sanctuary and two significant additions. His desire is to execute the office of the bishop faithfully and his passion is to be worthy of these two verses.

 

II Timothy 4:2 – “Preach the word: be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine”

 

II Corinthians 4:5 – “For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.”
